We are finally on our way, leaving for a short trip to Sarasota on Sunday. We spent the aftenoon moored in the harbour enjoying the gorgeous weather followed by a very calm night, not so usual in Sarasota.
We left Sarasota just before 8.00am on Monday and motored to Cape Haze. As usual the wind was on the nose and we could not sail. We had hoped to leave the Intra Coastal Waterway at Venice and sail down the coast to Bocca Grande but there was no point. The anchorage at Cape Haze is just a small bay in front of a number of lovely homes. A nice evening, watching the sun go down. Today we are moving on to Pelican Bay to meet up with two other Mantas. Rob & Sue, Nancy & Steve are the friends we had orginally planned to sail with to Belize. They will be leaving on Thursday morning for that trip and we hope to continue south to Marco Island.
